RN, Inventor, Business Owner
Nurse Born Products ~ Your Source for Nurse Invented Products
My name is Sarah Mott, I am a Registered Nurse, Inventor of the Koala~Qlip Stethoscope Holder, and Founder of Nurse Born Products an online store that carries products developed by nurses.
I started my career in healthcare working at an acute care rehab hospital as a CNA. In 2001 I graduated from nursing school. My first job as a registered nurse was at the same hospital that I worked at as a CNA. My specialty involved working with a variety of complex rehab patients including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complicated wounds and rare disease. I loved the work, but it was heavy and I eventually needed a change. My next position was on a post-op surgical floor. I tried homecare for awhile but my heart belonged to hospital nursing.
My journey into entrepreneurship began after I developed the Koala~Qlip Stethoscope Holder. I created the Koala~Qlip because I did not like wearing my stethoscope draped around my neck and I could not find a quality product that would allow me to clip my stethoscope to the waistband of my scrubs.
During the process of setting up my business, I came up with the idea to create a platform where I could sell my product as well as products that were developed by other nurses.
